Lucie Follett stands down as Arklu Creative Director

(LONDON, UK, November 4th, 2016) Lucie Follett, the co-founder and Creative Director of Arklu, is stepping down from her role as Creative Director and is leaving to set up a new company: Lucie (London) Ltd.

Having founded Arklu together with Ian Harkin in 2010, Lucie was the company’s Creative Director with responsibility for all brand building, product development and product partnerships.

Following the launch of the Royal Wedding dolls in 2010, Arklu went on to build a successful niche with Lottie Dolls.  Now stocked in over 30 countries and in some 3,000 stores, Lottie dolls have proved a great success, winning a number of awards for their creators, playing a catalytic role in developing the market for age-appropriate dolls worldwide.

Winner of the (UK) ToyNews 'Innovator of the Year' Award 2015 and shortlisted for the chiTag (USA) 'Toy Designer of the Year' TAGIE Award 2015, Follett will retain a small equity stake in Arklu.

Follett says “I have enjoyed the part I have played in creating Lottie. Stargazer Lottie’s recent trip to the International Space Station with Tim Peake was a particular highlight of the journey we have travelled together. I look forward to seeing how Lottie develops over the years ahead and have confidence in Ian’s ability to push forward and take the business on to the next level.”

Ian Harkin, Managing Director of Arklu said “We wish Lucie well in her new venture. Arklu is a young, vibrant and fast-growing company with exciting plans to develop the Lottie concept over the years ahead.”
